Rich von Langen, P.E.

Rich von Langen is founder and principal of RvL Associates and has over 37 years of industrial  water and wastewater engineering experience including design and construction of treatment facitities, pretreatment program development and management, and regulatory assistance. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. in Sanitary Engineering, both from Iowa State University. Having worked for 3M Company, Orange County Sanitation Districts, and as a Project Manager for several large and small consulting engineering firms, he has a unique understanding of the regulatory requirements and the industrial client's perspective of pollution control.

Rich  has experience with many types of industrial facilities and the wastewater treatment requirements for including food and beverage, metal finishing, printed circuit board, electronics, and paper industries.   Recently, he has been involved in several "first-of-its kind"  projects such as the biological regeneration of perchlorate contaminated resin, conversion of municipal biosolids to a bio-fuel using a patented high temperature and pressure process, investigating the potential of extracting valuable compounds from produced water from oil production, and several waste-to-energy projects using high solids, phased anaerobic digestion.  Clients selected him for these projects as recognition of his broad experience with industrial waste and water treatment processes and his ability to develop processes that will meet the client's objectives.
